Founded in 1998 by Michelle Cretella Bailey and Stacey Nagel Lankarge, Back Stage Dance Center takes pride in being a premier dance studio offering high-quality dance education in a fun, inspiring atmosphere along the beautiful Connecticut Shoreline. Our goal is to guide each student to achieve their best while instilling skills and life lessons that last a lifetime.
"Where It All Begins" is more than just a motto – it's our philosophy. We believe that a strong foundation in dance helps children mature physically, emotionally, and socially. Beyond the aerobic benefits, dance enhances flexibility, agility, coordination, and fosters creativity. It also strengthens children’s expressive, musical, motor, and auditory skills.
Through dance, children learn the importance of teamwork and develop confidence, tolerance, and persistence, which they carry throughout life.
